Beyonce and her team once again show their talent, intelligence, and creativity in a recording that was originally recorded By Dolly Parton in the late 1960's or early 1970's by Tom Pick Recording/Mastering Engineer known to have worked at RCA Victor Studios, Nashville and Fireside Studios. I use the term "Creativity" because of how a song released 50 or 60 years ago sounds like a piece of original music based on her own life experience as we know it. (As much as I know Stuart White of North Carolina is usually her Recording and Mix Engineer I can't confirm this particular song was one of his works.) Beyonce is not the first artist to dabble in Country music after her popularity in R&B/Pop music. She is the one most of society is paying attention to. Good or Bad. She deserves the attention.
Why Country Music? Well excuse me for saying "This ain't her first Rodeo" she has done it before. Also, many may argue, Black folk been doing country for centuries. Beside the fact that the audience buy more records than any other genre right now. Follow the money.
While I find a lot to enjoy when it comes to this artist from Houston, Texas I might add. I wasn't suprised by how biased the radio community was in receiving it. While she is at the top of the charts with her two previous country releases “Texas Hold ’Em” and “16 Carriages,”. Many didn't think she was country enough for them to play it on the radio. This of course, continues to show why many great songs never make it to the masses. If the community isn't careful many will look elsewhere for their music.
Still I love the difference yet there are some simularities...
